Matt competed in his first tri of the year in Athens on March 14th and did very well. Several of his teammates from the East Texas Triathletes also competed with him, and despite the cold rainy weather, I think he had a good time. There are a couple of pictures of him here: http://ettriathletes.com/gallerypages/Athens_Tri_2009.htm from their website. He plans to do many more, but the big goal is the Buffalo Springs Lake Half Ironman on June 29th, so the practice is always useful!
This week we are celebrating Matt. I think I have been more excited about his birthday this year, mainly because it's a day to celebrate him! He's the best hubby ever and I think he deserves lots of praise for it! So, we started the celebrating at Jake's last night with my parents (our favorite restaraunt in Tyler). It was delicious as always and they even made him this awesome dessert tray- minus the loud singing waiters, what more could you ask for!
Tonight Matt is going to enjoy a nice long bike ride in this amazing weather we have been having and then coming home to a delicious home cooked meal, right Matt!! :) We also plan on going to Dallas this weekend to see Matt's family and take some family portraits, so we will celebrate there too. What a lucky guy, so many people that love him.
I also had my 16 week doctor appointment Tuesday and she says everything is going well. I heard the heartbeat and it seemed so loud for something so little! She said the heart rate was around 140 and that is sounded good. I have been having a hard time wrapping my brain around the fact that this is really real, but everytime I hear the heartbeat it is a HUGE reminder that it is, I almost cried listening to it. It's the sweetest sound ever. :) We will go back April 13th to find out if it is a girl or a boy, yeah! I'll end with a picture of how I'm looking lately, it's definately there! Please ignore my hair & my outfit, I had just gotten done with a run, which yes I am still doing and really enjoying now that the weather is so nice.
