Jump Around

We all found ourselves bored on a recent Sunday afternoon and so we decided to hit up Emery's happy place- the mall.  Actually, we went to the mall with the intention of visiting one place- Jumpstreet!  It's our new indoor trampoline park and apparently everyone else had the same idea we did.  But, it's ok!  Emery and Beckett had a really fun time and burned a lot of energy!!!  Enjoy the pics (and the bluriness!).

They would both occasionally stop for a Daddy hug (it was so sweet!).

And then here they are after their hour was up- hot, sweaty, and tired!  It turned out to be a really fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

A Fun Saturday!

Last Saturday turned out to be one of those days that was just fun.  It wasn't planned or even really expected, but it turned out to be great (and who doesn't love a fun day?).

First I have to brag on my pizza making skills.  I got a pizza stone for my birthday and I have FINALLY mastered the technique, and I am addicted!  We eat pizza every Friday night, so this has been fun for me to experiment with.  Well, Matt's Grandmother recently got me a set of two mini pizza stones, so now Matt and I can have our margherita pizza and the kids can have cheese. Here's how it turned out, yum!

Moving onto Saturday (the SUPER fun day)!  Emery needed some new tap shoes and we finally had a good opportunity to go try some on.  We headed to Payless first thing (all 3 of us- see how this could be not so much fun?) and finally found some tap shoes, which has not been easy to do.  Poor girl hit a major growth spurt this summer and all her clothes and shoes are shrinking!

So, after we got shoes I had a friend that was going to a new junk store in Old Katy that I've been dying to go see and I'm so glad I did.  There are so many fun finds, paint, furniture, wreaths and just fun stuff to look at.  As we were checking out they saw Emery and said "Have you guys been to the princess store around the corner?" and I instantly said "Umm, NO!"- and guess where we headed next! :)

We walked into Once Upon a Time (just a block away from Junk Street) and look who was there to greet us, Cinderella herself.  Emery about died!

And Cinderella was fabulous to Emery.  She instantly swooped Emery up and got right to work!  She got a princess makeover:

Selected the perfect princess dress:

Talked to the magic mirror, and got bibbety boppety boo'd!

Then they read stories, colored, snacked, and packed her princess bag full of goodies:

This princess was loving it!  She's talked ever since about how nice Cinderella was, and when we can go back, and what princess Mama can dress up as.  It really made her day!

Keeping up with our good spirits we got in the mood for some Aggie Football on the way home, and all had a picnic lunch in front of the game.  It's really fun to see Emery really get it and enjoy seeing the football, the band, the dog... :)

After naps we had some fun in the backyard, and filled up the pool since it still feels like it is a million degrees outside.  The only way to survive is to be in the pool:

Finally we ended the day with Saturday Night Movie Night (yay!), and Emery again chose Bambi.

It was seriously a fun, fun Saturday and I am so glad we went to explore Old Katy.  If you live close by it's worth a visit.  Antique stores, dining, shopping, museums- it's really coming along and it's really great to see!
