Hello...???

I would like to greatly apologize for my lack of blogging for the last 6 months. I am having computer issues in the house and I don't have a way to upload pictures onto the blog. Let's be honest here- we're all just wanting pictures of Emery and not a bunch of words! :) For those of you periodically checking on the Madison's- THANK YOU!!! I still don't have a way to get pictures up here, so I'll tell you what we have been up to (yay, lots of words!).

Emery has grown and changed SO much- she turned a year old on August 17th and we had a birthday party at our house the weekend before. It was so fun and we are so thankful to our families who came to celebrate our baby girl with us. Emery loved all the attention and presents and food- she was such a ham! If you want to see pictures you can look here and here (big thanks to my Mom and Sister for being good bloggers!).

Miss Emery is definitely keeping us busy- she started walking at 11 months and her new name is Torn-Emery. She is somehow able to scatter all her toys throughout the house in a matter of minutes! It is so much fun and I love every day with her.

Hopefully soon I'll figure out this picture situation. Just give me another 6 months... :)

Need a laugh?

It's so funny what random noises will make my child laugh, but I'm willing to do anything to hear that sweet sound. You should know a couple of things before you watch this:

1. No video is ever complete without a dog fight in the background (or Friend's on the TV for that matter).

2. Red sweatpants are a must have for any fashionable mom this season!

3. I've been a little sickly lately, please ignore the coughing- I promise I didn't cough on the baby.

4. This video might not be for you if you are the sea sick type, my video taping skills aren't up to par either. :)

Enjoy!

Another month... already?!?

So,has it really been another month already and here I am finally updating! We have had a really great month, and it has come with some big changes. We started introducing Emery to solid food this month, and it is so fun! I love watching her reaction to the new flavors of the food- her facial expressions are too funny! She has done very well with all of them, after she gets over the initial shock of something new.

The first vegetable- peas!

Then we moved on to squash

And her favorite so far, green beans, yum!

Of course, I just feel the need to also include of some pictures just because she is so cute and I love taking pictures of her. Poor girl, she just never gets any attention. She has already figured out that she loves the iPhone and we look at all her pictures at least once a day, hehe!

She's getting so good at tummy time

Playing with Daddy

She recently found her feet and she plays with them all the time. This has made diaper changes very fun :)

We got SNOW! This was Valentine's weekend and we got 6 inches- it was just beautiful!

Of course, I do realize I just went from a snow picture to a sunny, short sleeved picture but what can I say- we live in Texas! A week after the snow it was 70 degrees outside (heavenly!), so we spent the afternoon at the park. Emery was sporting some new shades and tried out the swings. She's not too sure about them, but I think it will grow on her

5 Months

January 17, 2010
Is Emery seriously 5 months old already? It is so hard to believe that I am blogging again about another month gone by, and a big month it was. Emery celebrated her first Christmas & New Year's Eve (didn't quite make it to midnight this year!), started eating rice cereal, and rolled over. Here is what she likes this month:

- Still coming in at #1: the gym. She gets so excited to lay and kick and talk to the princess- sometimes she gets both arms and both legs going at the same time, it's starting to get a little out of control. Hilarious!

- We borrowed an exersaucer from a friend and she LOVES it! She is still a little small for it, but it has a great track around the seat so we can put her toys there so she can chew on them. She likes for me to stand her on the floor in front of it- she can reach all the fun toys much better that way.
- We are having several "conversations" a day. She actually just squeals and gargles really loud when you talk to her and it's just adorable and hilarious!

- She is reaching for everything! She is getting really good at reaching above her head if she is on the floor and doing everything she can to get a toy that is out of reach- I'm pretty sure she's a genious. She even got one of the stacking cups out of the other cup the other day, like I said, genious!

- She LOVES the rice cereal! I decided to give it a try New Year's Day since Matt was home (just to see what she thought) and she ate the whole bowl! This has really helped her put on some good weight the past few weeks- she's got to be over 11 lbs by now!

She is just the sweetest baby and I love watching her grow every day. Happy 5 months Goo Boo- looking forward to all the laughter in month 6, I love you!

Home from all the Christmas traveling!

Asleep in her high chair, poor thing!

Washing down the rice cereal, something else she loves, the sippy cup!

Christmas 2009

We had an excellent Christmas this year, mainly because Miss Emery was here to celebrate with us. We spent Christmas Eve in Tyler, and then traveled to Southlake on Christmas Day. It was so wonderful to spend time with family and have everyone together, I'll let the pictures speak for themselves!
Tyson, Sarah, & Camryn spent the whole week in Tyler- it was great!

Everyone cheering on tummy time

We spent a lot of time on the floor :)

Emery with her Great Grandaddy

TWO new babies, how excellent!

Wearing her new clothes, ready to go shopping!

Telling Mimi all about it

And, some excellent tummy time in Southlake

Merry Christmas everyone!
